What is a sleeve?
A sleeve is a printed film or paper sleeve that is placed over a product. There are three common forms:
Shrink Sleeve: This is applied to a bottle and then heated to shrink, completely enclosing the bottle with 360-degree printing. Used for mineral water, beverages, and yogurt cups.
Paper Sleeve: This is placed over cups or boxes and can be removed. Used for heat insulation sleeves on coffee cups and gift box sleeves.
Shrink Sleeve: 360-degree advertising coverage.
Ordinary labels can only be applied to the front and back, but shrink sleeves can completely enclose the bottle, printing on the top and bottom.
Core Technology
Material: PVC, PETG, OPS heat shrink film
Shrinkage Rate: 40%-60%, adheres tightly to the bottle after heating
Suitable for: Round, square, and irregularly shaped bottles
Why Brands Use It
High shelf visibility—360-degree display
Tamper-proof—identifiable even if torn
Suitable for promotional packaging—repackages the entire bottle without changing the bottle itself
Paper Sleeves: Outer coverings for cups and boxes.
The most typical example is coffee shop cup sleeves—heat insulation, and can be printed with logos.
Core Technology
Material: Corrugated cardboard, kraft paper, white cardboard
Thickness: 0.5mm-2mm, varying insulation performance
Printing: Offset printing, flexographic printing, hot stamping
Why Brands Use It
Insulation Function – Hot drinks won't burn your hands
Mobile Advertising – Customers carry it around, others see it all the time
Environmentally Friendly – Paper sleeves are recyclable, easier to dispose of than double-walled cups

Q: What is a shrink sleeve label? How is it different from a regular label?
A: A shrink sleeve label is a pre-printed tubular plastic film label. During packaging, it is placed over the container (bottle, can, etc.) and then heated in a steam or hot air tunnel. The film shrinks dramatically (typically by 50%-80%), conforming tightly to the container's contours and perfectly wrapping irregularly shaped containers. The main difference from regular self-adhesive labels is that it provides 360° full coverage and seamless three-dimensional decoration, and can be used for combination packaging.
Q2: What products are shrink sleeve labels primarily used on?
A: They have a very wide range of applications, commonly found on:
Beverages: Full-body or neck decoration of mineral water, tea drinks, fruit juices, and beer bottles.
Food: Seasoning bottles, sauce jars, yogurt cups, and snack containers.
Household and personal care products: Shampoo, shower gel, lubricant bottles, and cleaning product bottles.
Pharmaceuticals and health products: Medicine bottles and boxes.
Promotional and multi-pack packaging: Bundling multiple products together for promotional purposes.
